PTFE O-rings are used where elastomer O-rings are not suitable because of chemical attack or temperature. As they have little elasticity, they serve mainly as static seals. For higher elasticity, a groove oriented according to the direction of pressure is made around the circumference – on installation the opening groove is placed facing the pressure.

KLINGER Kempchen (Oberhausen, Germany) is a manufacturer of industrial gaskets, packings and expansion joints of the KLINGER Group (KLINGER Kempchen catalogue).

Seamless O-rings up to approx. 500 mm diameter, larger ones in welded design. Material virgin PTFE 6.3001 (filled on request).

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene): temperature −190 to +250 °C, briefly +300 °C, resistant to almost all chemicals (except chlorine trifluoride, elemental fluorine and molten alkali metals), does not swell in solvents, non-stick, non-flammable, non-absorbent, low coefficient of friction, high insulation resistance.
