V-rings are axial seals held on the shaft by their own elasticity, the sealing lip seals against a perpendicular counterface. They are very often used to seal bearings and to protect primary seals in dusty applications. The operating temperature range of V-rings depends on the material used, NBR up to 100°C, FKM up to 200°C.
