The 601 type seal is a universal U-cup seal made of HYTHANE® polyurethane with symmetrically shaped sealing lips, so it can be used as both a rod and a piston seal. It is recommended for light and medium-duty conditions and is used mainly as a spare part where it is not known for certain whether a piston or a rod seal is required.

Material: HYTHANE® is a special plastic (polyurethane) that is highly wear-resistant, flexible and able to withstand high thermal loads – it features extremely good abrasion resistance, very low compression set, high flexibility and great elasticity over a wide temperature range.

Technical parameters: continuous temperature −40 °C to +100 °C (for water and HFA, HFB fluids up to +60 °C, for HFC up to +40 °C), pressure up to 600 bar, sliding speed up to 1 m/s (these values are interrelated: at 1 m/s max. 250–280 bar, at 0.5 m/s max. 350–400 bar). Media: air, water, mineral oil-based hydraulic fluids, HFA, HFB and HFC. Max. sealing gap 0.80 mm at 63 bar, 0.60 mm at 160 bar, 0.50 mm at 250 bar, 0.40 mm at 400 bar. Roughness of sliding surfaces Ra 0.1–0.4 µm, static surfaces Ra max. 1.6 µm.

Size: inner diameter d1 95 mm, outer diameter D1 110 mm, height 13 mm. Tolerances: rod d1 f9 / D1 js11, piston d1 js11 / D1 H9. As rod seals, type 601 seals in standard sizes from a diameter of approx. 20 mm can be snapped into closed grooves.
