The E18 seal is a single-acting symmetrical seal for medium-duty hydraulic cylinders. It consists of a rubber-coated fabric U-cup and a rubber inner (energizing) ring. The energizing ring preloads the sealing lip, so the seal works well even at low pressure, and as pressure rises it presses the U-cup against the sealing surfaces and enlarges the sealing area.

Application: Medium to heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders, requires a split groove (split gland), can also be used as a piston seal.

Technical parameters: fabric-reinforced NBR U-cup seal 80/85 Shore A, NBR energizing ring 80/85 Shore A, pressure up to 250 bar, temperature −20 °C to +100 °C, speed up to 0.5 m/s. Media: mineral oils, bio oils, water-based fluids and water-glycol. Roughness: static surfaces Ra 1.6 µm, dynamic Ra 0.4 µm. Tolerance: d f8, D H9/H8.
