The DR U-cup seal according to CSN 02 9269 is a symmetrical hydraulic seal that can be used to seal both the piston and the rod. The sealing function in the pressureless state is ensured by the radial preload of the seal (compression of the lips after fitting into the groove), during operation the pressure of the working fluid presses the lips against the sealing surface. The nitrile rubber NBR 80 version is intended for common hydraulic applications with mineral oils.
Technical parameters: material NBR 80, colour black, pressure load max. 10 MPa, temperature range −30 °C to +80 °C, radial clearance max. 0.20 mm. For higher pressure (16 MPa) the DRPU version made of polyurethane AU 90 is available.
Installation space: inner diameter d 100 mm, outer diameter D 120 mm, seal height h 10 mm, groove width b 12 mm (±0,1), lead-in edge 7.5 mm. Piston or rod guidance must be ensured by a fit H8/e8 (H9/f8), groove bottom diameter within tolerance H11 (h11).
Installation: clean the installation space, lightly lubricate the U-cup seal, do not pull it over sharp edges and threads (rounded transitions and lead-in chamfers), roughness of moving surfaces max. Ra 0.4 µm.
