The O-ring is the most widely used type of seal because it requires little space and is very easy to install. With correct groove design and a suitable material, it performs its function reliably over the long term in both static and dynamic use within the temperature range permitted for the rubber material concerned.

Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR)
NBR rubber is the most commonly used material for O-rings. O-rings made of this material are resistant to oils (especially hydraulic oils),
greases, petrol and other aliphatic hydrocarbons, dilute acids and alkalis. They have excellent physical properties such as mechanical strength,
high abrasion resistance, and a good permissible temperature range of (-25 °C to +120 °C, special compounds down to - 45°C).
