O-rings

The O-ring is the most widespread method of sealing, because it does not require space and its installation is very simple. It is defined as a closed ring
with a circular cross-section, which is produced mainly from an elastic rubber material, the so-called elastomer. The size of the O-ring is defined by its inner
diameter (Ød1) and cross-section (Ød2).
O-rings are most often produced from various types of rubber by means of vulcanization (cross-linking) of the semi-finished product in compression molds
or injection molds with a seamless surface. With the correct design of the grooves and the appropriately chosen material, it fulfills its function for a long time
both during static and dynamic use within the range of temperatures allowed for the relevant rubber material.
