The O-ring is the most widely used type of seal because it requires little space and is very easy to install. With correct groove design and a suitable material, it performs its function reliably over the long term in both static and dynamic use within the temperature range permitted for the rubber material concerned.
Silicone rubber (MVQ, VMQ, SI)
MVQ O-rings are used mainly in applications requiring a wide temperature range (-55°C to +200°C), however, they cannot be used for sealing
hot water or steam. Their oil resistance is comparable to NBR, but their mechanical properties are inferior to NBR.
